Big plans at Phoenix Contact

In close cooperation with various planning departments, Phoenix Contact is planning the construction of a new logistics hall in Blomberg.

M&P is supporting the company through the various phases of the construction project, with the introduction of a CDE for data management and coordination tasks during the planning and construction phases, as well as user training to increase the possibilities of cooperative work.

Through regular collaborative collision checks between the 3D models of the various specialist planners, we also identify potential problems at an early stage and initiate coordinated solutions. At the same time, we carry out 3D laser scanning during construction in order to detect collisions early on and coordinate to avoid them. Our goal is to make the construction process as smooth as possible and minimise potential delays.

In addition, we offer Phoenix Contact comprehensive consulting on the development of BIM standards for future projects throughout Germany. We derive best practices from the current project and develop tailored strategies to further increase the efficiency and quality of future construction projects.

Motivation for innovation

M&P and Phoenix Contact are working together on future-proof buildings.

What will the buildings of tomorrow look like? In addition to digitisation, building automation and building technology, efficient energy generation, distribution and use are important components for many decision-makers, operators and property managers.

With an impressive 100 years’ worth of experience and a range with over 100,000 products, Phoenix Contact is pursuing a clearly set-out strategy of integration management. That means integrated planning and a holistic perspective on the building ecosystem over the entire life cycle. Together with its partners, Phoenix Contact meets all the requirements for buildings, from planning to construction and operation. Cooperation between all departments involved, both on a technical and personal level, is crucial in that endeavour.

Intensive interaction, innovative solutions

Working closely together with M&P allows Phoenix Contact to involve planners at an early stage of a project and thus to design and implement the best possible system. Working on an equal footing, the partners pursue shared goals in terms of digitisation and dynamic, sustainable changes in the construction and real estate industry. The partnership is characterised by a shared wealth of experience in the planning, construction and operation of buildings and strong innovative spirit in a variety of areas, including smart building and the interface between building automation and CAFM, as well as cybersecurity and robotics. The partnership and the intensive interaction in the early stages of projects provide a strong foundation for the development of future-proof buildings. Every technological detail is carefully coordinated to ensure optimal intercommunication between the systems and to create an advanced building infrastructure.
